Jim Lyden is a native of Portland, Maine, born in 1954, and has been been playing bass since the late 1960's. Jim maintains a busy performing schedule working regularly with many great local musicians. He performs in many ensembles with musical styles ranging from straight-ahead to free; local musical theater productions, and frequently can be heard with pianists Tom Snow, Matt Fogg, Mary Anne Driscoll, Curtis Clark, and Larry Garland. Jim has performed and recorded with Bobby Watson and Tiger Okoshi in the Mark Kleinhaut Trio; with pianist Scott Oakley; and has also performed with John LaPorta, Herb Pomeroy, Gary Smulyan, Oliver Lake, Roswell Rudd, and Jacki King.
